| “Feet I need you not, for I have wings to fly. “ Frida Kahlo My watercolors are offered to captivate, excite, and dazzle viewers . For me, taking risks is part of my journey, by mixing inks, gouache or other water media to guide, lead and direct my paintings to completion. Solo shows, as well as participation in outside festival shows and teaching have given me tremendous opportunities to interact with viewers of my work. I have shown my work at the Women’s Center annual show in Chapel Hill, the Maritime Museum in Beaufort , the History Museum in Morehead City and the Clayton Center. I am a member of the North Carolina Watercolor Society, the Visual Art Exchange in Raleigh, the Beaufort Historical Association, Johnston County Arts Council and Clayton Visual Arts. My work has been recognized in Carteret, Onslow, Beaufort and Johnston Counties and I was awarded the Richard Zuch Watercolor award in Carteret County as well as Best in Show for a watercolor depicting sea life. Originally from Massachusetts, I lived fourteen years on the coast of North Carolina and now in Clayton, NC with my husband Gerry, and my two cats. I welcome visitors by appointment. My work can be seen in my home studio, Handscapes Gallery in Beaufort, as well as Mattie King Davis Gallery, also in Beaufort. New work is also being exhibited November 15 - December 15 at the new exhibit hall at St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church on Bogue Banks. |
